Registered Clinical Counsellor
8 years of experience
I am a British Canadian Registered Clinical Counsellor (#18034) with 8 years experience working with children (7+), adolescents, adults, and families.
I have advanced training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic psychotherapy. All of my work is built on a person-centred approach.
I have worked as a clinical counsellor and mental health clinician with children, adolescents, adults, and families in non-profit, public school district, health authority, and government settings. I have also had the pleasure of guest lecturing on concurrent disorders and eating disturbances at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV), Stenberg College, and Douglas College.
I am currently one of the Members at Large of the Educational and School Psychology Section (ESP) of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), as well as the Student Board Member of the BC Psychological Association (BCPA) from 2024-2026.

Areas of Practice
My areas of practice, also referred to as areas of clinical competence, are defined by a combination of professional training and experience, as well as personal lived experience. I am also able to provide animal-assisted therapy with my miniature dachshund, Tilly.
Below is a list of the areas I focus on in my private practice with children, adolescents, adults, and families:
Low Mood and Depression
Anxiety
Stress
OCD
Substance Use and Addictive Behaviours
ADHD and Autism
Learning Disabilities
Grief and Loss
Relational Trauma (Family, Partner, Friendships)
Life Transitions
First Responder Health
Shame
2SLGBTQI+ Identity
Gender Transition
Disordered Eating
Counselling isn’t just for
times of crisis.
There is a misconception that you must be in crisis, or at the “end of your rope” in order to attend counselling/psychotherapy. This is not true.
While it is true that it may take time for people to be ready to begin therapy, counselling and psychotherapy can provide a space for people of all ages — people who would like to unpack past life experiences and perhaps understand themselves and their relationships better, as well as those who are actively facing complex and painful issues from trauma or loss and need support in developing strategies for coping. It is difficult to heal when we don’t have the tools to help us manage with the subsequent distress.
Depending on the nature of the reason a person comes to therapy, treatment can look like a combination of psychotherapy, skill development (if needed), psycho-education, unlearning maladaptive coping behaviours that perhaps once served you, developing self-awareness/insight, improving relationship functioning, and/or recovering from traumatic stress.
